English follows Japanese 親愛なるイノベーター・ジャパンのメンバーへ 本日、イノベーター・ジャパンは創業10周年を迎えました。本来は10周年パーティーを盛大に開催し、皆さんに直接感謝を伝えようと考えていましたが、新型コロナウイルスによる影響を考慮し、このような文章でのメッセージになることをお許しください。いつになるかわかりませんが、また状況が落ち着いたら、何らかの催しをしようと思っています。 振り返ると、この10年はとても早いようで内容の濃い10年でした。高田馬場の1室で1人で出航したイノベーター・ジャパン号も、今や&donutsを含めると50人のクルーが航海するそこそこの規模の船となりました。さらに、異なる道に進んだ元メンバーを含めると100人を超える人たちの力でここまで来ることができました。 ここまでイノベーター・ジャパン号を成長させてくれたみなさん、ありがとうございます。 正直なところ、「いよいよここまでか」と思ったことは何度かありましたが、その度にみなさんの自主的な行動に助けられ、危機を乗り越えてきました。イノベーター・ジャパンの強みは、経験やスキルだけではなく、一致団結した時の爆発的な行動力にあると感じています。まさにGrooveの力。それがあるからこそ、勇気を持って新しいチャレンジをすることができています。 昨年、ミッション・ビジョンの表現をアップデートし、コーポレートサイトもリニューアルしたのは記憶に新しいかと思います。それは、イノベーター・ジャパンが10周年の節目を迎えるに当たり、さらなる10年の航海に耐えられる船にしようと行ったものです。 根本的な理念は創業時から変わっていませんが、そこに「ウェルビーイング」というキーワードが追加されました。イノベーター・ジャパンは何のために存在しているのか、さらにはイノベーター・ジャパンのメンバーは何のためにかけがえのない時間を投じるのか。もちろん生活のための対価を得ることは大切ですが、それに加えて私たちの使命はテクノロジーとデザインを駆使して社会を少しでも良くすること。 これまで経済を拡大し、より多くの消費を促すことで社会は成長してきましたが、果たしてどれだけ良い社会になったでしょうか？ モノに溢れ、便利にはなったかもしれませんが、一方で自然が破壊され、多くの人が健康を損ない、閉塞感を感じながら生きている。イノベーター・ジャパンはそうではない状態をウェルビーイングと定義し、物質的・経済的豊かさは身の丈に合わせ、精神的・生物的豊かさを追求していきたいと考えています。 幸か不幸か、新型コロナウイルスによって、社会全体がそのことに気付き、大きく舵を切り始めたような気がしています。 これまでの10年は、コンフォートゾーンの中で緩やかに成長してきたと思っています。安定顧客のニーズに応えるべく、私たちの経験とスキルを切り売りすればそれなりの成長を遂げることができました。 しかしながら、10年、特に後半5年の成長率はとても高いとは言えず、ベンチャー企業のそれとは比べものになりません。（10年生存しているだけですごいことではあるものの）さらに、頼ってきた安定顧客も新型コロナウイルスの影響を受け、これまでと同様の成長ができるかは未知数です。 これからの10年は、イノベーター・ジャパンとして社会との接点を増やし、より多くのクライアントの課題を解決し、さらには海外のマーケットにも展開しない限り理想的な成長は望めません。いよいよコンフォートゾーンを出ることを迫られています。今までにない困難は当然あり、時には痛みも味わうことになるでしょう。 しかし、恐れる必要はありません。みなさんの行動力あればいかなる危機も乗り越えられることは、10年の歴史が証明しています。もちろんそのためにはみなさん自身の進化とGrooveが必要です。 進化はチャレンジの報酬だと考えています。ぜひイノベーター・ジャパンをチャレンジの場と捉え、使い倒してください。そして、共に成長し、また10年後に日本発のビジネスデザインカンパニーをつくり上げたメンバーとして乾杯しましょう。 株式会社イノベーター・ジャパン 代表渡辺 順也 Dear Members of Innovator Japan Today, Innovator Japan is celebrating its 10th anniversary.
